[ad_1] We are pleased to present the work of the 12th Asia-Pacific Network Operations and Management Symposium (APNOMS 2009), held in Jeju, Korea from September 23 to 25, 2009. Recently, several convergences and wireless networks , and telecommunication and broadcasting convention are occurring for provisioning of ubiquitous multimedia services. For example, broadband IP / MPLS networks are actively converging with IEEE 802.11e wireless LAN, IEEE 802.16 wireless MAN, 3G / 4G wireless cellular networks, and DMB (direct multimedia streaming) networks. For efficient support of service provisioning for ubiquitous multimedia services in broadband convergence networks, well-planned and implemented network operations, and Q-guaranteed traffic engineering management functions are essential. The converged network will pave the way for a new world with new emerging business and computing services. The Organizing Committee (CO) selected the "Enabling Future Internet for Business Change and New Computing Services" as the timely theme of APNOMS 2009. Contributions from academic, industry and research institutions have addressed these challenges with newspaper submissions , of which 41 high quality papers (23.7% of the submissions). ) were selected for technical sessions as complete articles, and 32 papers were selected as short articles. In addition, we had nine job-entry sessions for ongoing research.
